  1. will you accept my (autoethnography) proposal? lol
I am going to be doing a video regarding my wreck that left me paralyzed on August 28, 2009. I will be using object manipulation, whiteboard and claymation. it's going to illustrate how no matter hard the struggle my first priority was to return to a normal life pace.

  2. When I was younger I really rather hated reading. The only books I would ever read of my own volition had to be about UFOs or kittens(with lots of pictures). When I was in third grade the Harry Potter series was just starting to really pick up, with the forth book and the 1st movie coming out that year. I was very adamant that those books sounded like rubbish and I didn't want anything to do with them thank you very much. (Silly Anti-Conformist elementary school me...) One night my Mum decided that I was being ridiculous and she didn't care what I thought (she does that a lot) and that if I refused to at least try reading The Philosophers Stone, then she was just going to have to read it aloud to me. After she had finished the first chapter she said I could either go to bed or listen to her read one more chapter. I told her she was reading to darn slow, took the book to my room, and did not get much sleep that night.
I had never done something like that before. I couldn’t put the book down. I finished Philosophers stone in three weeks, Chamber of Secrets in two and a half, Prisoner of Azkaban in two, and the newly released Goblet of Fire in just one.
The moment I turned the last page of book 4, I had a life changing "Oh Shit" moment (or at least the third graders equivalent). There were no more books left in the series. What else could I find that was as well written? As many pages? I literally felt dizzy and had to sit down for a few minuets with the realization that nothing might ever compare.
Eventually I realized that other books did in fact exist and our school library kind of had a lot of them. All I did for the next four years was read. That was kind of literally it. I couldn’t get enough of them. I found other authors and other books, and though no book I could find was nearly as long the forth HP book, I just compensated by reading more and more and more. Reading went from a laughable concept to an all consuming obsession in a matter of minuets. Absolutely nothing about me now would exist if not for starting the Harry Potter series.
My video will be about how reading flipped my world upside-down.
I will be using Whiteboard, Pixilation, Object Manipulation and maybe Claymation.

  3. I propose to make a stop motion video using claymation, object manipulation, and puppet animation and maybe pixilation. It will illustrate how working at a camp for people with disabilities made me realize how much I took for granted. Not to say that I didnt appreciate my life, family and everything, but I didn't really think about how making art, something I loved to do , could help others feel normal. Maybe normal isn't the right word. Im not sure how to describe the feeling. I have been making art since I was in middle school and have always known I would do something in art when I became an adult. I always find it to be a stress relief and the only place I truly feel like I belong is when I am making art. While working at the camp I taught people how to make books and other projects, but they taught me to see things differently. They taught me that I could empower others with the same since of community and belonging that I got out of art just by showing them how to create. This will ultimately be a video that shows that we are always changing and learning new things. So who I am today is constantly changing and will continue to change.

  4. I would like to do my stop motion video about traveling. I love to travel, rather its a plane, a train, or an automobile, and I have been to quite a few places for my age but not near enough for my life. I started traveling when I was very young going on trips with my family and I intend to continue until I die. Traveling is part of who I am today. I will be using object manipulation, puppet animation, and whiteboard.

  6. I propose for my autoethnography animation to create a ballet of events from my life using pixilation, object manipulation, claymation, and possible puppet animation. For this project I will use a variety of toys and memorabilia that I have saved from my childhood to act out significant moments of my life through ballet. All aspects of the animation will relate to the moments in my life that I found have developed my own personal aesthetics. The stage will be a coffee table handmade by my father that resides in my living room. Throughout the animation each scene will take place in a variety of environments (such as Eureka Park, my mother’s backyard, my garden, etc.) I will try to limit the number of scenes to 5, depending on the length of each short. Additionally, I would like to add music from previous orchestras I have been a part of in the past to help personalize the animation. In this project I would like to show how seemingly mundane events can have great impacts on an individual’s aesthetic development.

  7. Ever since a little child i have experienced asthma in every spectrum of my life.I want the audience to view this film and truly experience an episode of an asthma attack. I want them to see from the inside and out from the facial features to the constriction of the oxygen in the lungs and from that constriction for a simple human figure.

  8. i'm going to be using pixilazation, object manipulation, and whiteboard... maybe even all of them.
but i'm planning on going through a day of my life - only to the extreme kind of thing. i'm going to be using help from a bunch of my friends, because they are the people who make me who i am today. among the other things i plan on adding into the video, my participation in ultimate frisbee will probably be the main concentration. a lot of the video is going to be fairly abstract in the images i'm trying to convey... for example the colors and drawings (much like Allison Shulnick as far as visual images go). hopefully it helps the audience to be just as confused as i am at most points in my life. (:

  9. Ok, so it officially hates MY mac, and that's it. I would choose to do something mixed with face-painting and circus arts. I think the screen would start on the young girls smile and travel down her back to where you see a tattoo on her back (thinking a celestial dragon the kind without wings so i can move it like a snake) as the camera watches the serpent, you see the background change (hinting that the girl is walking through the scenes) she would probably walk to a park, or to her car which will drive to a park, but as she moves the dragon on her back moves around, looking like it wants to escape and play. When she arrives I'd have the dragon leap from her skin and turn into a 3D dragon which will play with her as she belly dances or hoops. After playing for a while the dragon returns to her back and goes to sleep. (this relates to me because I face paint for events and birthday parties, and it truly inspires me, and I really enjoy it. The circus aspect has to do with my affiliation with a group called the Creative Motion, or more specifically Circus Freaks, whom have gotten dallas to lift the ban on street performers in deep elum, by "Seeding positivity" into the community. I don't always make their events, but there are part of my funky family.

  10. Here is my AA proposal.
I would like to cover a theme I call "nerd".
I got glasses when I was eight and I can not remember ever seeing without them.
I was teased that I got glasses because I read so much as a kid.
Like "mishyfish" I too have been an avid reader from the second grade.
In third grade when I got my glasses,
I was reading all of Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes series.(volume 1&2)
I promptly got the label "nerd" in my small private school.
To add to the book-reading, and four-eyes
    I was a Girl Scout.
I sold cookies, wore the vest, and had a positive attitude about it.
I stayed a Girl Scouts till I graduated high school and am now a life member.

I want to use object manipulation, pixilation, claymation, puppet manipulation and many more to show the sides of me that I consider very "nerdy".

  11. I was thinking about doing something with me and my glasses and my vision. I have worn glasses since I was 1.5 years old and for as long as I can remember, I have had double vision. Ever since then, I have worn glasses. I cannot wear contacts because of the issues I have with my eyes.

My other idea is to have a "recreation" of my now fiance proposing to me. It is very special to me but I'm afraid of it being cliche. Not really sure what to do at the moment though... :)

  12. I would like to do an object-manipulation/whiteboard/pixilation piece about the living conditions in Haiti.

  13. I plan on using object manipulation, whiteboard and pixilation in my AA. The theme will be based on my life as a commuter and how much I drive every day. I want to convey how heavily dependent I am on my car and its importance to me, as well as including any situations and emotions that come about while driving so much.

  14. I would like to do a stop motion video about my relationship with music. i.e. how to has inspired me and how it motivates me. When i say music I'm referring to my own personal music which i write and create. my music will accompany the video at times. It will be a bit abstract. I have been writing my own music for several years and it has always been a source for my inspiration and creativity.

  15. Since I was a child I have always had to prove myself. Prove that I was good enough. Prove that I could accomplish anything. Prove that there is more to me than my darker colored skin. People like to think that racism has become an almost irrelevant topic now; however, it is worse than ever in some areas. My AA will be a depiction of struggle to prove myself and trying to change to please others. I will use object manipulation, puppet manipulation, and claymation.

  16. For my auto- ethnography, I intend to create a scene and story line using different types of media and objects. I love drawing and painting, so I will use my traditional skills to render backgrounds to set a scene. Also, develop some objects to communicate the story about what has changed my life. So, hopefully I can create this project with these different types of techniques.

  17. I want to do a whiteboard animation that briefly gives a timeline of my life. There's going to be an obvious interaction between me(the creation) and the hand of the artist. I want it to show my life's obstacles in a comedic way. I plan on showing how I've struggled and how art has impacted my life and how art has helped me impact the life of others. ^.^ I plan on using whiteboard, object manipulation, and pixilation animation.

  18. As a senior in high school, I had a breakdown. I started having panic attacks very frequently. A lot of things led to it. Even though it was a really dark time and my rock bottom, that time is what I'm most proud of, because I came back from it stronger than I was before. Through this project I want to express my belief that people's darkest times are the most beautiful, because that shapes who they are. I will be using object manipulation, pixilation, and either whiteboard or claymation.

  19. What I am thinking about doing for my AA, is something to do with the transition from moving to New York to Texas. I am thinking of just showing traveling as well as things blossoming and growing. To do this, I will probably used mixed media of drawing, pictures and object manipulation.

  20. For my auto- ethnography, I've decided to depict my 7 year battle with my eating disorder- from the beginning to the point of overcoming it 2 years ago. Through pixilation, object manipulation, and video, i hope to do this under 5 minutes.

    1. I plan to make a stop motion animation based on a trip I took to alaska in junior high. I went with a youth group during the summer and it really opened my eyes to the power and beauty of nature. We did community work while there. We even worked with an environmentalist group to aid in salmon spawning by building semi-aquatic structures made of timber and foliage to attract bugs like mosquitos to feed and nourish the salmon on their way to spawn. Also, we even got to hike to and stand on a glacier! As well as being such an awesome trip, it opened my eyes to my love for the environment which explains why I plan to double major in environmental science as well as Art Ed. I plan to use claymation, object manipulation, puppet animation and/or pixilation.

  21. I plan on exploring the ideas about constructivism and personal identity... and maybe tie in ideas about fear and anxiety about risk and failure. The goal is to tie everything together with an understanding that perfect love gives clarity of self. I'll raise questions and propose my conclusions with object manipulation, whiteboard/drawing/painting, and claymation or puppet animation.

  22. I am planning on using whiteboard, object manipulation, green screen to make my autoethnography. It's going to be about how I didn't really have anything that lead me down this road but rather I just looked at my options after high school and didn't like what I saw with the other options. I found art teaching and it is exactly what I want to do with my life. My video is going to be short, sweet, and funny.

  23. I would like to use a whiteboard, paper and clay to show the stress of over coming the complications of dyslexia. It will be an analysis of letters and language with a mix of confusion and demonstartion of some practices taught in a dyslexia class in elementarty and middle schools.
