  1. Most basically I want to learn things that I can teach to my art students later. Specifically I am interested in learning more about design software such as Photoshop/GIMP and about stop motion animation.

  2. What Debbie has said has pin pointed what I also want to learn with a focus on what I can teach my students.

  3. I am interested in improving my skills with different design software and how to bring that into the classroom. Similar to what Debbie and Rachel have said before me.
I feel that it is important as an art teacher to be educated in all forms of art making. This includes anything from canvas to digital art.

  4. I want to learn to use different methods of using computers that can inspire and ignite interest in students. I'd like to incorporate filming and editing as it allows for those who don't draw or don't like the 2D art may participate and bring their own creativity to the table. I'm hoping to learn to use photo shop more proficiently to expand my knowledge of different programs to better my chances of being chosen by employers.

  5. I agree with Rachel and Debbie. I would also like to learn about these programs so I don't feel intimidated by art created with technology anymore. I would also like to make something that I think is really cool so I can show everyone!!!

  6. This is my first class in the Art Education major, so I am primarily interested in learning more about the major itself. I would also like to work with film and animation techniques and programs, because that is one area that I don't know a lot about.

  10. Im interested in learning more about how to work with these programs on a MAC. I've worked with making movies before with windows movie maker but they are just simple clips, so I'm interested in learning more about different techniques. I also want to learn how to relate the things that I learn to children.

  13. I have no idea how to do any of these things that we are talking about and I had no idea that these skills were actually in my reach. I'm really excited to learn how to fuse my two passions of art and children together.

  14. My mediums of choice as an artist are graphic design/vector illustration using Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as digital photography, so I am already experienced in these areas. I would like to work with motion graphics (After Effects if possible) and web design (specifically Dreamweaver and developing Word Press themes) to help expand my software repertoire and online presence. I would also like to work in Flash. These skill sets are important to me as a student and as a future teacher.

  16. Coming into this class I am ecstatic as well as nervous. Although I'm always using a computer I have not had the privilege to work on an apple computer. I know it is extremely different from windows so all in all I basically want to learn all the software and any skills technology can offer to improve the teachings in art and art itself.

  17. While I am interested in how what we learn will help my teaching, mostly I am just excited about adding computer/video artistic techniques to my art making process.

  18. Dear Andi Harman,
Most of the projects in this class can be customized to fit your interests. Especially stop animation in Flash and the Webquest in Dreamweaver.

  21. Im really excited about this class and I'd like to brush up on my photoshop skills and learn how to use other design software besides adobe. I really haven't had any interest in animation until today's class, so I can't wait to learn all the techniques that jeremy introduced to us.

  23. I am also excited about this class. It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun and I know I will learn a lot. Like some of you, I'm also a little nervous, and not a mac person, but I'm looking forward to learning, becoming more familiar with the system, and creating some awesome stuff.

  25. I am excited to learn fun and interesting techniques to bridge what I feel is a gap between my traditional knowledge of art history and art education and contemporary visual culture perspectives that are probably more familiar to today's K-12 students.
